Hartley named Dundee boss

Dundee this evening unveiled Paul Hartley as their new manager following the departure earlier this week of John Brown.

The former Hearts, Celtic and Scotland midfielder led Alloa to back-to-back promotions before deciding to leave Recreation Park last month.

Hartley, who has agreed a deal until summer 2016, takes over with Dundee second in the Championship, behind leaders Falkirk on goal difference, and one point ahead of a Hamilton Accies side who visit Dens Park on Saturday.

Director of Football Operations John Nelms said: "I’m delighted that we have managed to attract one of Scotland’s brightest up-and-coming managers to Dens Park - his dynamism and forward thinking fits perfectly into our plans for the club."
