East Stirling’s summer signing from Whitehill Welfare, striker Michael Herd, who returned to action as a substitute against Dumbarton last weekend in the Scottish Cup is facing another spell on the side-lines.
Herd had injured tendons in his hand in an accident away from football in mid-September and he looked set to be fighting for a starting place in the Shire’s next game against Queen’s Park next Tuesday, however he aggravated the injury in a friendly against Albion Rovers in midweek.
It is the second set-back for head coach John Coughlin who also lost Rhys Devlin in the same game and he said, “We took this game to give players who had been out for a while some game time. Disappointingly it looks like it has not worked out the way we wanted it too.”
