Motherwell and Hibernian set a new SPL record by sharing 12 goals in an incredible 6-6 draw at Fir Park on Wednesday night - with Motherwell's ground the place to be for high-scoring matches...
12 - Motherwell 6 Hibernian 6 (05/05/10)
Craig Brown's men recovered from 6-2 down with 25 minutes left and even missed a penalty in one of the most incredible matches ever seen in Scotland. Lukas Jutkiewicz smashed in a stunning equaliser, with Giles Coke (2), John Sutton and Tom Hateley also on target for Well. Colin Nish hit a first-half hat-trick for Hibs, who also netted through Derek Riordan and Anthony Stokes (2).
11 - Motherwell 5 Aberdeen 6 (20/10/99)
Two of the country's best goalkeepers - Andy Goram and Jim Leighton - were on the receiving end as Ebbe Skovdahl's side won their first SPL game of the season in astonishing fashion. John Spencer and Robbie Winters traded hat-tricks, Don Goodman and Shaun Teale scored Well's other goals and Andy Dow, Eoin Jess and Paul Bernard contributed to Aberdeen's haul.
9 - Dunfermline 1 Celtic 8 (19/02/06)
Celtic stormed to the biggest win in SPL history on a day when Maciej Zurawski scored four times for Gordon Strachan’s side. Stilian Petrov began the rout and, although Andy Tod equalised, John Hartson, Shaun Maloney, Neil Lennon and four-goal Zurawski helped Celtic become the first team to score eight times in an SPL match, against a team who had beaten them a few months earlier.
9 - Motherwell 4 Dundee United 5 (20/08/05)
United hit back from 2-0 and 4-2 down to win another Fir Park goal feast. Ross McCormack and Scott McDonald had Motherwell in command but Lee Miller reduced the leeway, only for Marc Fitzpatrick to make it 3-1. David Fernandez pulled one back but Jim Hamilton soon restored the two-goal difference. Miller and a Grant Brebner double swung the match in the visitors’ favour.
9 - Rangers 7 Falkirk 2 (18/08/07)
Most of the damage was done in the second half, with Rangers only 2-1 ahead at the interval. Daniel Cousin scored early and Steven Whittaker netted before Arnau Riera gave Falkirk hope. Cousin made it 3-1 but the Bairns were still in it when Graham Barrett struck with 18 minutes left but Kris Boyd, a Jean-Claude Darcheville double and Kirk Broadfoot took Rangers to a big win.
