Inverness CT have appointed former Falkirk and Hibernian boss John Hughes as their new manager on a contract until the summer of 2016.
The 49-year-old, who replaces Terry Butcher, has also been in charge at Livingston and Hartlepool but he left Victoria Park in May of this year.
His first match as Inverness CT manager will be against St Mirren in Paisley in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday.
Caley Thistle chairman Kenny Cameron told the club website: "We are delighted to appoint John Hughes as our new manager. John’s appointment was the unanimous choice of the board.
"He is an experienced manager, which is what we feel is required in the current scenario we have at our club. He greatly impressed all the directors with his knowledge of the club, his passion and philosophy for the game.
"John has been chosen from a high-calibre short list who were a pleasure to interview. He has the drive and coaching expertise to be an excellent asset to Caley Thistle and run the football department in a highly-motivated and professional manner.
"We took our time about the appointment as it was important to obtain the right fit for this stage of the club's development. John was the person who met our criteria. He has already spoken to the players and made a very positive impact.
"John will be selecting his own assistant manager in due course and has not ruled out choosing someone already at the club."
