Refereeing bounce games in training is helping Albion Rovers midfielder Peter Innes recover from the injuries he received in a car crash last month.
The former Motherwell man suffered a broken bone in his leg and a dislocated elbow when he was hit by a taxi as he crossed a street and manager James Ward has brought the 33-year-old back into training in an unusual role.
Ward said: "Peter is still a bit away from doing any ball work but we did not want him to get distanced from the squad. We have him in at training every night now and he has taken on the role of referee, which gets him involved and allows him to enjoy the banter in the team.
"He is doing some swimming now as well and hopefully we will get him back on the pitch as a player and not a referee by the end of the year."
