John held the post of SFL President between 2002 and 2007 and was also an SFA Board member during his long service to Scottish football.
A popular and well-known figure throughout the game, John was a long-serving director at Stirling Albion and made many friends in boardrooms up and down the country.
Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this very difficult time.
