Jones departs Livingston

Defender leaves Lions after short stay

Livingston have agreed to part company with former Celtic defender Curtis Jones after less than two months at the Championship club.

The Manchester born 20-year-old, who started his career at Stockport County, joined the Lions in the summer from Bristol City after a two-year spell at Celtic that ended just after he helped them win the SFA Youth Cup in May 2012 with an 8-0 success over Queen of the South.

The stopper featured in a pre-season friendly for the Lions against Romanian opposition in England, with the West Lothian club’s assistant manager Mark Burchill saying: “Curtis is leaving us for personal reasons and, whilst we are disappointed by his decision, letting him leave is the right thing to do.

“He is a good lad who has worked hard since he came here and we wish him well in whatever he does next.”
