Zander Craik (Annan Athletic – co-operation loan with Kilmarnock)
Having flourished under Chris Burke’s guidance in the Club Academy Scotland set up and earning a contract extension with Killie until 2026, Zander Craik is aiming to make the next step in his fledging career.
A promising striker, the 19-year-old got his first taste of senior football through loans with Queen of the South and East Kilbride last season.
Now he has the task of filling the boots of the recently departed Tommy Goss to win a place in the hearts of the Annan Athletic faithful.
Sharp in the box and with a keen eye for goal, the KDM Evolution Trophy could be the perfect platform for Craik to establish himself in Wullie Gibson’s side as they take on Kelty Hearts on matchday 1.
Joseph Teasdale (Kelty Hearts – co-operation loan with Aberdeen)
Joseph Teasdale is one of a multitude of players who will benefit from a co-operation loan throughout the 25/26 season.
The young Aberdeen attacker is currently plying his trade at New Central Park, with the Maroon Machine hoping that his blossoming talents will aid their William Hill League 1 push this term.
A quick, aggressive forward player who tends to operate on the left-side of attack, Teasdale has already caught the eye of Kelty Hearts boss Tam O’Ware with his displays in the early portion of the campaign.
The 17-year-old provided a moment of “pure class” in Saturday’s 3-2 win over Montrose, driving forward as a late substitute and slotting home an added time winner, as 10-man Kelty Hearts claimed all 3 points at Links Park.
With Kelty at home to Annan Athletic on MD1, Teasdale may get another opportunity to shine at his new club.
Jack Lyon (Heart of Midlothian B)
Having produced Craig Gordon once upon a time, and with promising young stoppers such as Harry Stone & Liam McFarlane on their books, Tynecastle is one of Scotland’s hotspots for goalkeeping talent.
Jack Lyon is the latest budding shot stopper to be making his way through the system in Gorgie, and the 16-year-old is certainly one to watch.
The teenager has all the raw materials to kick on and have a fantastic career in the game, with his eye-catching agility and confidence on the ball making him stand out in the world of ‘modern goalkeeping’.
Lyon has started all 4 of Hearts B’s Lowland League fixtures this season, so he is certainly one to keep an eye on when the Wee Jambos head to Methil to take on League 1 new boys East Fife on Tuesday evening.
