The SPFL has announced ticket prices for the 2013/14 Scottish League Cup semi-finals in February – at £20 for adults, £10 for under-16s and £5 for under-12s.

The SPFL has announced ticket prices for the 2013/14 Scottish League Cup semi-finals in February – at £20 for adults, £10 for under-16s and £5 for under-12s.

Aberdeen and St Johnstone contest the first semi-final at Tynecastle Stadium on Saturday February 1 at 3pm, while Heart of Midlothian v Inverness Caledonian Thistle is at Easter Road Stadium the following day, live on BBC Scotland with a 12.15pm kick-off.

More than 37,000 tickets are available across both games with the special concessionary rates of £10 for under-16s and £5 for under-12s agreed to maximise affordability and value for supporters, in particular families, of all competing teams.

Initial allocations and stadium splits have also been confirmed for the fans of all four clubs attending the national cup competition semi-finals which take place in early February 2014.

Initial ticket allocations are as follows*:

• Aberdeen: Main Stand South, Wheatfield Stand and Gorgie Stand; Tynecastle Stadium
• St Johnstone: Roseburn Stand; Tynecastle Stadium
• Heart of Midlothian: West Stand Upper & Lower, East Stand, South Stand Lower and Famous Five Stand Lower; Easter Road Stadium
• Inverness Caledonian Thistle: West Stand Upper & Lower; Easter Road Stadium

SPFL Chief Executive Neil Doncaster said: "We are very pleased that, in conjunction with all four clubs, we can announce Scottish League Cup semi-final ticket prices of £20 for adults, £10 for under-16s and £5 for under-12s.

"The SPFL believes that this is very competitive pricing for national cup semi-finals and takes into account the time of year and the economic challenges facing many supporters.

"In addition, the initial allocations announced today have taken on board supporter feedback from previous seasons and they also follow consultation with all four clubs.

"Last year's Scottish League Cup semi-finals produced two memorable ties and, with upwards of 37,000 tickets available, we look forward to more of the same in February in front of two big crowds and the fantastic atmospheres they will help generate."

The Scottish League Cup has been won by three different teams in the past three seasons with St Mirren’s inaugural victory in March 2013 following Kilmarnock’s first ever triumph 12 months previously and Rangers’ win the year before.

The 2013/14 competition will see a fourth different winner for the fourth successive season. At the final on Sunday 16 March, 2014, Aberdeen will be looking to pick up the trophy for the first time since 1995 and Heart of Midlothian since 1962 while both St Johnstone – beaten finalists twice – and Inverness Caledonian Thistle have yet to win the competition.
