Loons sign Faeroe for Faroe

Defender joins Forfar after Champions League suty

Forfar Athletic have snapped up Odmar Faeroe, a Faroe Islands under-21 international defender, who has moved to Aberdeen to attend University.

The 22-year-old, who was actually born in Denmark, was with B36 Torshavn in the Faroe Islands and played in both legs of the first preliminary round of the Champions League last month against Linfield with the Northern Irish side winning on penalties after two goalless draws.

Faeroe, who stands at over six foot tall has signed a one year deal, and he will feature against Ayr United at Somerset Park on Saturday if international clearance comes through in time.

Loons boss Dick Campbell said, “This move has been in the pipeline now for a few weeks and I am delighted that it has finally come off. Odmar has a big presence about him and I am sure he will enjoy being a Forfar player.”
