Liverpool’s Luis Suarez has been given a boost in his bid to be the top goalscorer in the UK this season after Peterhead’s Rory McAllister suffered an injury in Saturday’s 2-0 win over Albion Rovers.
The Uruguay striker has netted 30 times this season however the Blue Toon front man leads him by one, although he now looks set to miss out on the rest of the season.
Peterhead manager Jim McInally said: “Rory suffered a gash to his shin that required stitching at hospital as the doctor did not want to do it here as it was so deep.
"It looks like he will be out for the season but we may just have to use him as a late substitute to try and keep him ahead of Luis Suarez!"
