Replacement for John Hughes confirmed

Ross County have named Malky Mackay as their new manager following the recent departure of John Hughes from the Dingwall club.

The 49-year-old was previously in charge of Watford, Cardiff City and Wigan Athletic before becoming Performance Director of the Scottish FA from 2016-2020.

A statement on the Ross County website said: "In appointing Malky, the club feel that we have an individual who has vast experience, essential leadership skills and strong knowledge of the game, as well as being a respected figure throughout football with extensive contacts that will be essential in developing the next chapter of our club."
