Alloa boss Allan Maitland is keeping his fingers crossed that former Brechin City and Raith Rovers wide-man Darren Smith will be fit for Saturday’s Scottish Cup tie against Hamilton Accies after leaving him out against Stenhousemuir on Sunday as a precaution.
Maitland said, “Darren has been suffering from the flu as well as a niggling ankle knock so we felt that sitting Sunday’s game out was the right choice. Fingers crossed he will be fine for New Douglas Park as he is one of our most experienced players.”
