Third Division Arbroath have extended the loan period of Dumbarton defender Allan McManus until the end of the season to help the Gayfield men keep up their Championship charge. The 36 year old joined Paul Sheerin’s side a month ago, to take the number of clubs he has played for in his 19 year career that began at Hearts to ten. Ironically McManus’ deal was extended to cover injuries at the League leaders and the centre back had to leave the field against Stranraer on Saturday after 13 minutes after he had picked up a knock.
Sheerin said, “Allan has been fantastic since he came in and I was delighted to keep him here through a vital period of the season.”
