Hamilton Accies boss Billy Reid reckons that striker Jon McShane has been left devastated after it was discovered that his knee injury will keep him out for most of the rest of the season just days after being told he would only be out of the game for a month.
The former St. Mirren striker was sent for a scan recently and the initial analysis was that he would only be out for 4 weeks, however it has now been discovered that McShane faces a lengthy period on the side-lines due to ligament damage.
Reid said, “It is horrible news at any time but it is particularly cruel to hear it so soon after thinking it was only a short-term injury. We are all upset for the boy but he is only 21 and he can come back and have a good career.”
“He has a lot of hard work ahead of him but he has worked hard during his time here so that should not be a problem.”
