Dumbarton are hoping that striker Jon McShane will be featuring in their first team again before his loan spell from St Mirren ends at Christmas. The front-man, who turned 19 yesterday, was stretchered off during Saturday’s 1-0 win over Stenhousemuir after a crunching sliding tackle from Warrior Scott Gibb.
McShane was taken to hospital after the game and he faces time on the sidelines with Sons boss Jim Chapman saying, “The good news is that there was no fracture, however there was bad ligament damage. The full extent is not known yet as there is still significant swelling.”
“Jon will get excellent treatment from St Mirren and we are hoping that he will be back leading our line before his loan period ends.”
