Livingston received a boost when skipper Simon Mensing got his boots on again, after six months out with a knee problem, to play in an U20 game.
The 32-year-old joined the Lions in 2013 but his season ended in early April due to the injury. The club had originally feared that surgery would be required but he is now close to a top-team return.
The former Clyde player took part in Livingston’s SPFL Development League East game against Alloa at the Inodrill Stadium on Monday evening, which ended in a 2-2 draw.
