Miller released from hospital

Shire defender recovers afetr poor challenge

Ricky Miller in action for East StirlingshireEast Stirling defender Ricky Miller was released from the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary on Saturday night after fears that he had broken his leg in Saturday’s 2-1 Scottish Cup win at Fraserburgh eased.

The big centre back was felled in the opening minutes at Bellsea Park and was stretchered off before immediately being driven to hospital where x-rays revealed that no break had occurred, although he had suffered severe bruising and a nasty gash.

The former Vale of Leithen man joined the team bus for the home journey on crutches with head coach John Coughlin saying, “Ricky will be out for the next few games which is a blow as we have a number of players out. On the other hand I have to be pleased that the injury is not as severe as we first feared.”
