Motherwell have named Jens Berthel Askou as their new manager following the recent departure of Michael Wimmer from Fir Park.
The 42-year-old will formally take over next week, subject to the approval of a work permit.
He was previously in charge of Gothenburg and was more recently assistant boss at Sparta Prague then Copenhagen.
Chairman Kyrk Macmillan told the club website: "We had a high number of impressive applicants but we were really drawn to Jens.
"His track record of working with big clubs, delivering success and developing young players matches up with all our philosophies here at Motherwell Football Club."
