Peterhead’s loan deal with Aberdeen youngster Stephen O’Neill has come to an end after a month but manager Jim McInally is keen to see the 19-year-old midfielder back before the end of the season.
McInally said: “Stephen came in for a month when we had a few players missing with injury and he has done really well. You can see why Derek McInnes rates him so highly.
“We are keen to have him with us for longer but if I take him for another month just now the loan rules that are in place could stop me taking him for longer when the January transfer window opens.
“I would prefer to have Stephen with us for more than a month - and at the business end of the season if that was possible.”
