Striker John Gemmell looks set to return to his former home at Albion Rovers following the release from his contract at Montrose. Gemmell joined the Links Park side a year ago from Cowdenbeath on a two year deal and scored 4 times, however he has not featured in any of the club’s pre-season games.
The 25 year old has also had stints at Queen’s Park, Partick Thistle, Dumbarton and Hamilton Accies with Coatbridge boss Paul Martin advising, “John is a player that I like because he brings a physical presence to our attack and he scores goals. Hopefully he will be a Rovers player before Saturday’s kick off.”
