Premier Sports Cup Semi-Final Key Players – Celtic

Ahead of Saturday’s massive semi-final tie against current holders St. Johnstone, we take a look at who the main men could be for Ange Postecoglou’s side!

Kyogo Furuhashi

The Japanese forward has been a revelation at Celtic Park since his summer move from Vissel Kobe. A technically excellent player, capable of both linking play and getting on the end of chances. Kyogo’s goals, work ethic and stellar performances have quickly endeared him to the Celtic supporters. With 13 goals and three assists in all competitions, the Saints back line will have to be on top of their game to keep Celtic’s No 8 quiet.

Jota

Another new member of the Hoops attack, Jota seems to be getting better every game. Equally effective on either the left or right of a front three, the Portuguese playmaker’s trickery and dribbling abilities have lit up the cinch Premiership in the first part of the season. Jota bagged his first Celtic goal in September’s 3-0 quarter-final win over Raith Rovers and has scored a further five since. He will be keen to impress in his first outing at the National Stadium.

Joe Hart

After a period of inconsistency in the goalkeeping department, the Hoops now seem to have a dependable shot-stopper in the form of former England No 1, Joe Hart. Since joining in the summer from Tottenham Hotspur, Hart has kept a league-high six clean sheets in the cinch Premiership and made several crucial saves both domestically and in Europe. If Hart is at the top of his game on Saturday, Celtic have a very good chance of reaching December’s final.
