Queen’s Park lifted the first ever SPFL Reserve League title last night when they defeated Ayr United’s second string 5-1 at Somerset Park.
The Spiders’ hero was full back Bernard Coll who slotted home a hat-trick of penalties to put his side 3-0 ahead midway through the second half with Lee Davison and a trialist completing the scoring after Ayr had pulled a goal back.
The amateurs with new first team boss Gus McPherson in attendance needed to win to clinch the title from a Dundee side that had been three goals and one point better off than them ahead of last night’s kick-off.
