Queen's Park return for Dickson

Queen’s Park’s recently-appointed head coach Gus MacPherson has brought former assistant manager Bobby Dickson back to the club as chief scout and match assessor just a week after he left

Queen’s Park’s recently-appointed head coach Gus MacPherson has brought former assistant manager Bobby Dickson back to the club as chief scout and match assessor just a week after he left.

Dickson, who played for Queen’s Park between 1974 and 1983 before returning to join the coaching staff, agreed to leave last Monday when MacPherson opted to bring in former Hamilton manager Chris Hillcoat to work with the first team.

MacPherson, however, moved quickly to keep Dickson involved and offered him a new role which he has accepted.

The former St Mirren and Queen of the South manager said: “I am delighted that Bobby is remaining with the club. He is extremely knowledgeable about our division and will fulfil a very valuable role in helping us get prepared for games.

“Bobby is also pleased to be continuing his association with the club that began almost 40 years ago.”
