FIFA’s weekly TV programme ‘Football Mundial’ that airs on SKY Sports will have a special section dedicated to the pioneers of football in Scotland, Queen’s Park tonight.
A film crew recently spent the weekend with the Hampden based Third Division amateurs that were formed in 1867, taking in their 3-3 draw with Stranraer as well as looking at their Youth and Community work.
Head Coach Gardner Speirs, several players and backroom staff as well as committee members were interviewed and are all waiting anxiously to find out if they will be included in the final cut.
Speirs said, “Queen’s Park have a long, unique and proud history in football and it is great that FIFA have recognised it by including us in their programme.”
