Queen's Park v Rangers - a popular Christmas present

Tickets going well for festive fixture at Hampden

The visit of Rangers to Hampden 4 days after Christmas to face Queen’s Park on Third Division duty looks set to be played in front of a bumper festive crowd with almost half of the 42,000 tickets sold already.

The Spiders and the Ibrox club have been working together on making the return of the ‘Original Glasgow Derby’ to the National Stadium for the first time in a league game since November 1957 a gala Christmas occasion and their plans for the Saturday, December 29 meeting have been getting backed by supporters.

Queen’s Park General Manager Christine Wright said, “It looks like tickets for this game are a popular Christmas present. Over 1,200 tickets of the 2,000 for the Queen’s Park section have been bought and Rangers have advised that nearly 17,000 tickets have been purchased by their supporters so it looks like the game will be a huge event.”

“Working with Rangers we agreed that a family section of 3,000 would also be in place with the first child being admitted for a £1 and additional children £5.
