John Baird scored a dramatic late winner as Raith Rovers beat Rangers 1-0 in Sunday's Ramsdens Cup final at Easter Road.

The former Partick Thistle and Dundee striker fired the ball past Cammy Bell just three minutes from the end of extra time as Rovers won the trophy for the first time.

Nicky Law struck the woodwork for Ally McCoist's men in the first period of the additional half hour and Lee Robinson - a winner last season with Queen of the South - made some important saves.

Grant Murray’s team created some good openings of their own before Baird seized on a defensive slip to slam the ball home, after Bell had blocked the initial effort, to the delight of the Rovers fans in the 19,983 crowd.
