Rovers winger moves on

Dalrymple ends stay at Coatbridge

Darren DalrympleAlbion Rovers’ summer signing from Kilsyth Rangers, winger Darren Dalrymple has turned down the chance to move back to the Junior ranks and has opted to buy out his contract with the Coatbridge side.

Dalrymple featured against Queen of the South in the ALBA Challenge Cup tie that opened the season, however he has not settled in the senior game and was looking to re-start his career elsewhere.

The Cliftonhill club had paid Kilsyth a compensation fee for his services and were in line to have that recouped as both Bo’ness and Whitburn chased the player, however Dalrymple has now decided to join Stirling University.

Manager Paul Martin explained, “As Stirling could not pay us a fee Darren has agreed to buy out his contract to allow him to go and play there. He is good kid and a great talent and he leaves us here with our best wishes and hopes that he enjoys his football again.”
