Celtic moved to the top of the Ladbrokes Premiership with a 5-1 win over Kilmarnock this afternoon. James Forrest scored twice and Odsonne Edouard, Ryan Christie and Mikael Lustig were also on target as Brendan Rodgers’ side leapfrogged Steve Clarke’s team.
St Johnstone continued their good run by beating Aberdeen 2-0 at Pittodrie with goals from Joe Shaughnessy and Blair Alston while Peter Haring was the matchwinner as Hearts defeated Motherwell 1-0 at Tynecastle. Oli Shaw earned Hibernian a 1-0 victory away to Hamilton Accies and Livingston came from behind to beat St Mirren 3-1 at the Tony Macaroni Arena with goals from Scott Pittman, Ryan Hardie and Craig Sibbald.
Partick Thistle were the day’s only winners in the Ladbrokes Championship, beating Dunfermline Athletic 2-0 at The Energy Check Stadium at Firhill to move off the bottom of the table at the expense of Falkirk, who drew 2-2 at home to Alloa Athletic. Ross County missed the chance to go top as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Queen of the South in Dingwall and it also finished 1-1 between Morton and Dundee United at Cappielow.
Unbeaten Arbroath are now 13 points clear in Ladbrokes League 1 after beating local rivals Forfar Athletic 3-2 at Station Park with a Bobby Linn hat-trick as second-placed Raith Rovers lost by the same score to Montrose at Links Park. Bottom club Stenhousemuir earned an important 2-1 win away to Brechin City while Stranraer hit back from three goals down to draw 3-3 at East Fife and Dumbarton and Airdrieonians drew 1-1.
Edinburgh City remain two points clear in Ladbrokes League 2 after winning 2-1 away to Annan Athletic as title rivals Peterhead thumped Berwick Rangers 5-0 at Shielfield. Elgin City saw off bottom club Albion Rovers 4-2 at Borough Briggs and there were 1-1 draws between Queen’s Park and Stirling Albion at Hampden and Cowdenbeath and Clyde at Central Park.
