Wins for Hearts, Dundee and Motherwell

Heart of Midlothian moved up to second place in the cinch Premiership with a 2-0 home win over St Mirren thanks to second-half goals from Gary Mackay-Steven and Stephen Kingsley.

Hibernian came from behind to defeat St Johnstone 2-1 at McDiarmid Park with late goals from Kevin Nisbet and Jamie Murphy. Saints went ahead through a Ryan Porteous own goal but had Craig Bryson sent off before half-time.

Dundee defeated Motherwell 3-0 at the Kilmac Stadium - Luke McCowan and Danny Mullen scored in the first half and Ryan Sweeney struck after the interval.

Bottom club Ross County drew 1-1 with Dundee United at the Global Energy Stadium. Louis Appere gave United the lead and County were reduced to 10 men when Harry Clarke was sent off but Jack Baldwin equalised in stoppage time.
