Raith Rovers also progressed on spot kicks following a 1-1 draw with Championship rivals Morton at Stark's Park while Queen's Park saw off Montrose 2-0 at Hampden.
Hamilton Accies defeated Inverness CT 2-0 at New Douglas Park and Clyde are also though - they beat Elgin City on penalties after a 0-0 draw at Borough Briggs. Dundee, Queen of the South and Dunfermline Athletic had already booked their quarter-final places.
In cinch League 2, Forfar Athletic beat Stenhousemuir 2-1 at Ochilview to move off the bottom of the table at the expense of Bonnyrigg Rose, who drew 0-0 at East Fife.
