Airdrieonians and Spartans promoted

Airdrieonians have been promoted to the cinch Championship after a dramatic penalty shoot-out win over Hamilton Accies at New Douglas Park. The hosts were on course for safety as they led 2-0 on the day but Gabby McGill levelled the aggregate score at 2-2 in stoppage time. Extra time failed to produce a goal and the Diamonds won 6-5 on penalties.

Spartans will be playing in cinch League 2 next season, with Albion Rovers relegated to the Lowland League after the capital club won 1-0 in Coatbridge for a 2-1 aggregate triumph. Blair Henderson scored the only goal from the penalty spot after 16 minutes.
