Round-up of today's games in the SPFL

Substitute Peter Ambrose scored with six minutes left as Aberdeen defeated Dundee United 1-0 at a sold-out Pittodrie in the evening kick-off to move three points clear at the top of the William Hill Premiership. St Johnstone beat Dundee 2-1 at Dens Park to climb into the top six while Ross County moved above Kilmarnock thanks to a 2-1 win in the Highlands. There are three games on Sunday - the Edinburgh derby at Easter Road is live on Sky Sports at 12 noon, with Sky also showing Motherwell v Celtic at 3.00pm. Rangers host St Mirren in the other 3.00pm fixture.

Falkirk stay four points clear in the William Hill Championship thanks to a 2-1 home win over Dunfermline Athletic. Closest challengers Livingston scored late to beat Raith Rovers 2-1 in West Lothian and third-placed Ayr United won 1-0 at bottom club Airdrieonians. Partick Thistle leapfrogged Queen's Park to move into the top four with a 1-0 victory at Hampden. Oli Shaw hit a seven-minute hat-trick as Hamilton Accies saw off Greenock Morton 3-0 at New Douglas Park.

It's incredibly tight in William Hill League 1, with only two points separating six clubs. Cove Rangers are the new leaders following a 2-0 triumph at Montrose and Stenhousemuir are second on goal difference after beating Kelty Hearts 2-1 at Ochilview. Alloa Athletic, beaten 1-0 at home by Arbroath, are the third team on 17 points. Inverness CT, who entered administration this week, lost 3-1 at Dumbarton while Annan Athletic beat Queen of the South in the late game at Galabank.
