Road to the semis:
Inverness CT have knocked out Arbroath (2-0), Stenhousemuir (on penalties) and Rangers (3-0), with all three victories coming away from home. Hearts beat Livingston 3-1 at Tynecastle then defeated Dundee United on spot-kicks after a 1-1 draw at Tannadice.

League Cup pedigree:
Caley Thistle are bidding to reach the League Cup final for the first time. Hearts were last finalists in 1996/97, when they lost 4-3 to Rangers. They have lifted the trophy four times but not since 1962/63.

Meetings this season: Both SPL encounters have ended in draws. It was 2-2 at Tynecastle on August 18 and 1-1 at the Tulloch Caledonian Stadium on November 10.

St Mirren thrashed Ayr 5-1 and edged out Hamilton 1-0 before beating Aberdeen on penalties after a 2-2 draw at Pittodrie in the quarter-finals. Celtic have seen off St Johnstone 5-0 and Raith Rovers 4-1 to reach this stage.

League Cup pedigree: Celtic have won the competition 14 times, most recently in 2008/09. St Mirren have never won the League Cup, losing in their final appearances in 1955/56 and 2009/10.

Meetings this season:
Celtic ran out 5-0 winners in Paisley on October 20 and won 2-0 at Parkhead on December 15.
