Sekhon pipped by Wolves defender

Recognition for Jags' youngster

Aaron SekhonPartick Thistle youngster Aaron Sekhon was pipped by Wolves’ central defender Danny Batth in the chase for the very first Asian Football Young Player of the Year Award in the UK.

The 17-year-old, who joined the Jags in the summer from Falkirk, has been featuring regularly for the Firhill reserves and under-19 side this season and he had been nominated along with Batth, Jasbir Singh of Solihull Motors, Adil Nabi of Premiership ship side West Bromwich Albion and Walsall’s Malvind Benning.

The award ceremony took place at Wembley Stadium on Wednesday night with Batth, who is presently on-loan spell at Sheffield Wednesday, picking up the Award ahead of the Partick youngster who made his first team debut at Dens Park against Dundee back in October.
