Graeme Shinnie has signed a new contract that will keep him at Aberdeen until the summer of 2019.
The 25-year-old, who can play in defence or midfield, joined the Dons from Inverness Caley Thistle ahead of the 2015/16 season.
Manager Derek McInnes told the Aberdeen website: "We're aiming to make a couple of signings in the transfer window but this is as important as any signing we will make.
"I'm delighted Graeme has shown such loyalty and commitment - that same commitment we all see from him week in and week out, both on and off the pitch."
