Alloa striker Greig Spence is closing in on a first-team comeback after a month out with a hamstring injury.
The 22-year-old, who has scored nine times this season, picked up the problem in a 3-1 defeat to Dumbarton in September but battled on for a fortnight before being forced to take a break.
Spence warmed up with the rest of the squad ahead of Tuesday night’s 4-0 Scottish Cup third-round replay win over Ayr United at the Indodrill Stadium.
Manager Barry Smith said: “Greig has made good progress and it was good that he was involved on Tuesday before the game. We will not rush him but he could be in our squad for Rangers tomorrow.”
