The Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL) has today published the 2025/26 fixture lists for the William Hill Premiership, William Hill Championship, William Hill League 1 and William Hill League 2.

William Hill Premiership fixtures 2025/26

William Hill Championship fixtures 2025/26

William Hill League 1 fixtures 2025/26

William Hill League 2 fixtures 2025/26

A total of five games have been selected for live television coverage across the opening weekend, with Sky Sports showing four matches in the William Hill Premiership, starting with Motherwell v Rangers on Saturday August 2, kick-off 5.30pm.

Reigning champions Celtic begin the defence of their trophy against St Mirren on Sunday August 3 (Sky Sports, kick-off 4.30pm) following Falkirk’s first top-flight game since 2010, against Dundee United, live on Sky Sports, kick-off 2.00pm.

Sky Sports will also have live coverage of Heart of Midlothian v Aberdeen on Monday August 4, kick-off 8.00pm, as Derek McInnes takes charge of his first league game as Hearts boss against his former club and Scottish Cup holders.

The first match of the 2025/26 SPFL season will see Arbroath unfurl their flag for winning William Hill League 1 before their match against Ayr United, live on the BBC Scotland channel on Friday August 1, kick-off 7.45pm. Promoted pair Peterhead and East Fife meet in their William Hill League 1 opener at Balmoor while East Kilbride will make their SPFL debut against The Spartans at K-Park.

The first Old Firm match of the season will take place at Ibrox on Sunday August 31, live on Sky Sports at 12 noon. The Dundee derby at Dens Park also takes place that weekend while the first Edinburgh derby of 2025/26 is set for Tynecastle on October 4/5.

Sky Sports again have the rights to broadcast up to 60 matches exclusively live in the William Hill Premiership and today’s fixture publication includes their coverage of derby matches over the festive period – Hibernian v Heart of Midlothian on Saturday December 27 (kick-off 12.30pm) and Celtic v Rangers on Saturday January 3 (kick-off 12.30pm).

Premier Sports’ first selection is Russell Martin’s first home league match as Rangers manager as they take on Steven Pressley’s Dundee on Saturday August 9, kick-off 5.45pm.

The recently-revised UEFA calendar – with 10 matchdays set aside for the league phase across the three European competitions – means there is again no room for a winter break in the William Hill Premiership.

The final top-flight fixtures are scheduled for the weekend of May 16/17 while the William Hill Championship, William Hill League 1 and William Hill League 2 will conclude two weeks earlier on Friday May 1 (Championship) and Saturday May 2 (League 1 & 2).

SPFL group chief executive Neil Doncaster said: “The publication of the fixture list is a big day in the calendar for clubs and fans alike and 2025/26 promises to be yet another exciting and dramatic season across all four divisions of the SPFL.

“Season 2024/25 saw record attendances for the third year in a row, with more than 5.3 million supporters attending matches across all our competitions, again highlighting the massive interest in football in this country.

“This coming season will also see more matches shown live on TV than ever before and I would like to thank our title sponsor William Hill and our broadcast partners Sky Sports, Premier Sports, BBC Scotland and BBC ALBA for showcasing the very best of the SPFL. I wish all 42 clubs well for the season ahead and hope that the supporters enjoy their football in the coming months.”

Gary Hughes, Sky Sports Director of Football, said: “We’re excited to kick off the SPFL season with four live matches across a brilliant opening weekend on Sky Sports. Today’s fixture announcement gives fans plenty to look forward to – including coverage of two huge derbies over the festive period.
