We’re firmly in the business end of the William Hill SPFL season so what can be decided this weekend?
We will update this article ahead of each weekend fixture round between now and the season finale so you know exactly what is at stake.
You can watch the best of the action from the William Hill Championship, League 1 and League 2 in the Scottish Football Round Up
William Hill Championship
Automatic Promotion: St. Johnstone and Partick Thistle remain locked in a fight for promotion to the William Hill Premiership with Saints holding a five-point lead with three games remaining.
Saints aren’t in action until Tuesday night (April 21) due to Dunfermline Athletic’s Scottish Cup semi-final commitments. Simo Valakari’s team could be crowned champions should they win, coupled with Partick Thistle failing to beat Airdrieonians on Saturday.
Promotion Play-Offs: Should they be unable to overhaul St.Johnstone, then Partick Thistle can console themselves with a guaranteed play-off place with three matches to spare.
Arbroath have the chance to book their spot should they defeat fifth-place Raith Rovers at Gayfield on Saturday. Victory for Rovers would narrow the gap to two points with two games of the season remaining.
William Hill League 1
Automatic Promotion: The destination of the title won’t be decided this weekend; however, any dropped points could prove crucial at this delicate stage of the season.
Inverness CT hold a one-point advantage over Stenhousemuir following the Highlanders’ 2-0 win over Peterhead in midweek.
Scott Kellacher’s men host bottom club Kelty Hearts while Stenny are away to Cove Rangers.
Will the picture remain the same, will Inverness CT stretch their lead or could we have a new front runner with two matches to go?
Promotion Play-Offs: While they are fighting for 1st place, one of Inverness CT or Stenhousemuir will enter the William Hill Championship play-offs.
Alloa Athletic can rubber stamp their participation with victory over East Fife. Queen of the South are seven points ahead of Saturday’s opponents Peterhead so victory will be enough to see them locked in for the post season.
William Hill League 2
Automatic Promotion: Another title race which could go down to the wire. East Kilbride are only ahead of The Spartans by a single point after both sides were defeated last time out.
Saturday sees East Kilbride host Edinburgh City while The Spartans are away to Annan Athletic.
Promotion Play-Offs: The lowest either East Kilbride or The Spartans can finish is second whilst Clyde can confirm their play-off place by beating Dumbarton this weekend.
The race for the final play-off spot is red hot with four teams separated by just three points. Stranraer and Forfar Athletic both sit on 43 points with the Blues holding the slenderest of advantages on goal difference (0 vs -1). Elgin City sit one point back on 42 with Annan Athletic on 40.
Relegation Play-Off: Edinburgh City are already confirmed in this spot with three games of the season remaining.
