Fourth-placed Motherwell saw off St Mirren 2-0 at Fir Park and Hibernian, in fifth, were 3-1 winners at Kilmarnock. Falkirk beat Aberdeen 1-0 to move into the top six while Dundee won the derby match 1-0 at Tannadice with a goal from Ashley Hay.
St Johnstone stay five points clear in the William Hill Championship title race after beating third-placed Arbroath 1-0 at McDiarmid Park. Partick Thistle, in second, hit back from two goals down to defeat Morton 3-2 at Firhill. Airdrieonians and Raith Rovers drew 0-0 at the Albert Bartlett Stadium.
Stenhousemuir moved to the top of William Hill League 1 following a 2-0 win over Queen of the South at Ochilview. Kelty Hearts and Alloa Athletic drew 1-1 at New Central Park.
The Spartans extended their lead in William Hill to League 2 to eight points after beating Dumbarton 2-0 at Ainslie Park. Clyde and Forfar Athletic drew 1-1 at New Douglas Park and it was also 1-1 between Stranraer and Edinburgh City at Stair Park.
