Heart of Midlothian came from behind to beat Motherwell 3-1 at Tynecastle and move three points clear at the top of the William Hill Premiership. Celtic defeated St Mirren 1-0 at Parkhead to go second in the table while Rangers travel to Falkirk on Sunday, live on Sky Sports at 12 noon. Aberdeen saw off Hibernian 2-0 at Pittodrie while Dundee United beat bottom club Livingston 3-2 at Tannadice. Kilmarnock, who occupy the relegation play-off place, drew 2-2 with Dundee at Rugby Park.

St Johnstone remain five points clear in the William Hill Championship title race after beating Airdrieonians 4-0 at McDiarmid Park. Second-placed Partick Thistle ran out 2-0 winners against Dunfermline Athletic at Firhill while Raith Rovers edged out Greenock Morton 3-2 at Stark's Park. Ayr United defeated Arbroath 1-0 at Somerset Park.

Stenhousemuir stay two points clear of Inverness CT in William Hill League 1 after the sides drew 1-1 at Ochilview this evening. Queen of the South beat Cove Rangers 2-0 at Palmerston and East Fife defeated Peterhead 2-1 at Bayview. Bottom club Kelty Hearts were 3-1 winners against Montrose at New Central Park and ninth-placed Hamilton Accies beat Alloa Athletic 1-0 at Broadwood.

East Kilbride remain a point clear at the summit of William Hill League 2 despite losing 1-0 to Forfar Athletic at Station Park as title rivals The Spartans went down 2-1 to Stranraer at Ainslie Park. Clyde were 2-0 winners away to Edinburgh City, who are now confirmed as the bottom club this season. Annan Athletic saw off play-off rivals Elgin City 3-0 at Borough Briggs and Dumbarton edged out Stirling Albion 2-1.
