Wins for Celtic and Killie | Saints increase lead | Spartans close the gap

Celtic came from behind to beat Motherwell 3-1 at Parkhead and close the gap on William Hill Premiership leaders Heart of Midlothian to two points after Hearts lost 1-0 at Kilmarnock in the late game. Hyunjun Yang scored twice against the Steelmen, who had Emmanuel Loneglo sent off. Falkirk are almost assured of a top-six place after drawing 1-1 with Aberdeen at Pittodrie. Hibernian were held to a 0-0 draw by bottom club Livingston at Easter Road. There are two games on Sunday – St Mirren v Rangers (Sky Sports, 12 noon) and Dundee v Dundee United (Premier Sports, 2.00pm).

St Johnstone moved eight points clear of Partick Thistle at the top of the William Hill Championship thanks to a 1-0 home win over Ross County, who are now bottom of the table. Fourth-placed Dunfermline Athletic continued their good run by beating Raith Rovers 3-0 at East End Park. Queen's Park and Ayr United drew 1-1 at Lesser Hampden and it was 0-0 between Airdrieonians and Arbroath at the Albert Bartlett Stadium.

Stenhousemuir moved level on points with William Hill League 1 leaders Inverness CT thanks to a 1-0 win at Peterhead while Caley Thistle were held to a 1-1 draw by Cove Rangers – whose goalkeeper Balint Demus scored a stoppage-time equaliser. Third-placed Alloa Athletic lost 5-4 to Montrose in a thriller at Links Park while Queen of the South, in fourth spot, were 3-1 winners over Hamilton Accies at Broadwood. Bottom club Kelty Hearts drew 1-1 with East Fife at New Central Park.

The Spartans beat Clyde 2-1 at Ainslie Park to move to within two points of William Hill League 2 leaders East Kilbride, who lost 2-1 to fourth-placed Stranraer at Stair Park. Forfar Athletic saw off Stirling Albion 3-0 at Forthbank and it was also 3-0 for Annan Athletic against Edinburgh City at Galabank. Elgin City and Dumbarton drew 1-1 at Borough Briggs.
