At a disciplinary hearing today (Thursday 18 August, 2022) a Committee of the Board of the SPFL acting as a Tribunal considered a complaint that Fraserburgh FC in Playing Scott Murison, Kyle Wood and Jamie Maclellan in their SPFL Trust Trophy match against St Johnstone B on Tuesday 9 August, 2022 were in breach of the Regulations in respect of the competition. St Johnstone B won the match 2-0.
All three players were listed in the starting line-up. Fraserburgh FC admitted breaching SPFL Rules and Regulations by Playing the players in the match when they were, at the time of the match, Registered at the Scottish FA on Temporary Transfers to Scottish North Region Junior clubs Fraserburgh United FC (in the case of Scott Murison), Stoneywood-Parkvale FC (in the case of Kyle Wood) and Maud FC (in the case of Jamie Maclellan).
The Tribunal imposed the following sanctions:
(i) the Club was reprimanded and warned as to future conduct;
(ii) the result of the match was annulled and instead recorded as a 3-0 victory for St Johnstone B; and
(iii) a fine of £1,500, of which all is suspended until 30 June 2023 pending any further breaches of SPFL Player Regulations.
