A new SPFL lower league highlights show has had over 100,000 viewers so far this season.
The SPFL’s Scottish Football Round-Up programme was introduced for the start of the 2023/24 season by the league’s digital team to improve the viewing experience for both supporters and clubs.
The programme now has commentary for all games in the cinch Championship, cinch League 1 and 2 in one TV show – by utilising a mix of Club TV commentary, and a narrative voiceover.
The show has now been watched over 110,000 times since the start of the season – averaging over 10,000 viewers per week – and viewers have also risen from last season’s equivalent highlights package.
It’s the first time the SPFL has produced commentary for all games across the three lower leagues.
Neil Doncaster, SPFL chief executive, said: “Everyone at the SPFL is really pleased how well our new Scottish Football Round-Up programme has been received.
“We knew that clubs and fans were keen for our highlights package to have commentary for our games across the cinch Championship, cinch League 1 and 2, given the many great stories across those divisions and we are happy that we have now been able to deliver that.
“It’s been great work from our digital team to provide the voiceover and graphics for every single game, and we’re looking forward to the programme going from strength to strength in the comings months.”
The cinch SPFL’s Scottish Football Round-Up is available to watch on the SPFL’s official YouTube channel every Tuesday from 5pm.
