Dumbarton stormed into the Final of the Stirlingshire Cup, after a comprehensive 6-2 victory over Stenhousemuir at Strathclyde Homes Stadium on Tuesday night. Paul Quinn opened the scoring for the Warriors however, goals from Martin McBride and David Winters had the Sons 2-1 up at half time.
McBride netted again before Pat Walker and Tony Wallace made it 5-2 to Dumbarton with Quinn claiming his second of the night for Stenhousemuir from the penalty spot.
Youngster Ryan Metcalfe ended the scoring when he made it six for the hosts.
Falkirk won through to a semi-final against hosts Alloa Athletic by the slenderest of margins with Murray Wallace’s header on 34 minutes giving the Bairns a 1-0 win. Steven Pressley’s youngsters now face East Stirlingshire in the semi-final for the right to meet Dumbarton.
