Rangers beat Motherwell 2-1 at Fir Park in the lunchtime game to move back to within two points of cinch Premiership leaders Celtic.
Malik Tillman and John Lundstram scored in the second half before Stuart McKinstry pulled one back with 13 minutes left but the visitors held on.
Aberdeen are up to fourth place in the table thanks to a 2-0 home victory over Heart of Midlothian with goals from Luis Lopes in 74 minutes and Vicente Besuijen five minutes later.
