Team of the Week

A View From the Terrace's Craig Fowler selects his latest SPFL Team of the Week, with Rangers striker Jermain Defoe the star man...

GK - Joe Lewis (Aberdeen)
Hibs striker Christian Doidge missed some good chances in Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Pittodrie but we shouldn't forget the heroics of Lewis, who each time sprinted from his line and played the situation perfectly to deny the striker.

DC - Darren Brownlie (Queen of the South)
Even the club's social media account was moved to include praise for the defender in their tweet announcing the full-time whistle, as Allan Johnston's men went to Partick Thistle and won 1-0.

DC - Dario Del Fabro (Kilmarnock)
The on-loan Juventus centre-back was in dominant form as Kilmarnock left Tynecastle with a clean sheet and all three points thanks to Chris Burke’s deflected header.

DC - Chris Hamilton (Cowdenbeath)
It wasn't all bad for those associated with Hearts as centre-back Hamilton stood out for his loan club as Cowdenbeath defeated Edinburgh City to move to within a point of the Ladbrokes League 2 summit.

MR - Liam Polworth (Motherwell)
The former Inverness midfielder has enjoyed an excellent start to the Ladbrokes Premiership season and was in strong form again, providing an assist for James Scott in the 2-0 triumph over St Mirren.

MC - Willie Gibson (Stenhousemuir)
The veteran strolled it in the centre of the park as Stenhousemuir pulled off the biggest shock in the lower leagues this past weekend, defeating a previously rampant Cove Rangers side 3-2 despite going a goal down early on.

MC - Graham Dorrans (Dundee)
The signing of Dorrans was hailed as something of a coup for the Dens Park side and it certainly appeared that way on Saturday as the ex-Rangers man ran proceedings from the middle of the park in the 2-0 win over Arbroath.

ML - Adam Frizzell (Dumbarton)
The on-loan Kilmarnock midfielder netted twice for the Sons as they defeated Forfar Athletic 3-1 at The Rock to move to within a point of the promotion play-offs.

FC - Lyndon Dykes (Livingston)
The Aussie gave the Celtic defence a torrid time on Sunday and netted the clinching second goal as Livingston handed the reigning champions their first defeat of the league season.

FC - Jermain Defoe (Rangers)
Rangers moved to the top of the Ladbrokes Premiership table thanks to a comprehensive dismantling of Hamilton Accies on Sunday afternoon. Steven Gerrard's men won 5-0, with Defoe netting a hat-trick as he deputised for Alfredo Morelos.

FC - Kevin O'Hara (Alloa Athletic)
It was a case of top versus bottom on Friday but Alloa clearly hadn't read the script, winning 1-0 against Dundee United after a performance that could easily have resulted in a more comprehensive scoreline. O'Hara netted the only goal and troubled the Chamionship leaders throughout.
