Team of the Week

A View From the Terrace's Craig Fowler selects his SPFL Team of the Week, with Brechin City teenager Olly Hamilton the star man...

GK - Aaron Lennox (Montrose)
Montrose may have defeated Clyde easily in the end, winning 4-0 at Links Park, but they needed Lennox to pull off three top saves in the minutes immediately after half-time to keep their 1-0 advantage.

DR - Jeremie Frimpong (Celtic)
Once again, the bargain buy from Manchester City shone brightest for the champions as they defeated Hibs 2-0, with Frimpong getting his first goal at Celtic Park.

DC - Steven Saunders (Partick Thistle)
The centre-back was outstanding for the Jags in the 'Thistle derby' and netted the second goal in the 3-1 win over Inverness, a massive result which lifts Ian McCall's men out of the relegation places.

DC - Jason Kerr (St Johnstone)
Speaking of which, St Johnstone did the same on Saturday in the Ladbrokes Premiership by going to fellow strugglers Hearts and winning 1-0. The highly-rated centre-back was back to his best after a difficult 2019/20 so far.

DL - Borna Barisic (Rangers)
The left-back's crossing was again a consistent weapon for Rangers as they kept just behind Celtic at the top of the Ladbrokes Premiership, winning 2-0 at Motherwell.

MR - Olly Hamilton (Brechin City)
Brechin are still bottom of Ladbrokes League 2 but they're now within touching distance of ninth place after consecutive victories for the first time since March. On-loan St Johnstone winger Olly Hamilton grabbed his first senior goals with a double in the 2-1 home win over Cowdenbeath - on the weekend of his 18th birthday no less!

MC - Calum Butcher (Dundee United)
Butcher was dominant in the centre of the park as Dundee United continued their outstanding recent form, winning 1-0 at Arbroath. With each passing game Robbie Neilson's side look more and more like champions elect.

MC - Ross Docherty (Ayr United)
Two headed goals from the centre-midfielder was enough for Ayr United to take all three points from their clash with Alloa Athletic. It was a timely victory, too, with Mark Kerr's side having failed to win any of their previous four matches.

ML - Declan McDaid (Dundee)
Prior to going off injured, McDaid bamboozled Dunfermline's defenders with his running as Dundee edged a seven-goal thriller with their Fife visitors at Dens Park.

AM - Aymen Souda (Livingston)
Two goals from the attacker put Livingston into a commanding 3-1 lead during their trip to St Mirren in what proved to be the most exciting game of the weekend from the SPFL top flight.

FC - Jonathan Obika (St Mirren)
Livingston were unable to leave Paisley with all three points thanks in large part to Obika, as the frontman scored twice and set up the other as the home side battled back from the two-goal deficit to secure a 3-3 draw.
