Team of the Week

Craig Fowler from A View From the Terrace names his SPFL Team of the Week, with Elgin City hat-trick hero Russell Dingwall the star man...

GK - Brett Long (Dumbarton)
Dumbarton are back on top in cinch League 2 thanks to a 2-0 home win over Stranraer. While the result may look straightforward on paper, the Sons were thankful for Long's performance as he kept the scores level then 1-0 ahead before a second goal in injury-time sealed the victory.

DR - Cammy Kerr (Dundee)
The right-back put in a decent performance even before he grabbed the winning goal in a 3-2 comeback victory for the Dees away to Partick Thistle as they cut the gap on leaders Ayr United to just three points.

DC - James Brown (St Johnstone)
Playing at right wing-back, the defender not only excelled in his defensive duties, barely giving Ryan Kent a sniff, he also scored his first goal in senior football, and what a hit it was! The thunderous drive gave Saints the lead in their 2-1 win over Rangers in the cinch Premiership on Sunday.

DC - Kyle Benedictus (Dunfermline Athletic)
The Pars extended their lead at the top of cinch League 1 to six points with a 1-0 win at rivals Falkirk. While Craig Wighton got the winning goal, it was another game where they built their victory on a solid defensive showing, with Benedictus the stand out at centre-back.

DL - Alex Cochrane (Heart of Midlothian)
Andy Halliday may have scored two goals, but the best player on the park at Tynecastle on Sunday was his defensive team-mate. Cochrane was imperious at centre-back then, late in the game after being moved to left-back, he charged forward and won the penalty from which 10-man Hearts finally saw off Motherwell with a 3-2 win.

MC - Connor Scully (Cove Rangers)
Another two-goal showing from Scully helped Cove Rangers to an important triumph in the cinch Championship. The 2-0 home win over Queen's Park on Friday evening puts a five-point gap between Jim McIntyre’s side and the relegation spots.

MC - Russell Dingwall (Elgin City)
Despite all of the goals in the Premiership this past weekend, we have to go down to cinch League 2 for our only hat-trick hero and the star man this week. Dingwall plundered three first-half goals (two from the spot) as Elgin built up a lead - they eventually prevailed 3-2.

MC - Lewis Gibson (Queen of the South)
Gibson played an influential role as Queens got themselves an impressive away result, winning 3-0 at Edinburgh. He scored the opener, set up the second goal and played a role in the third as the visitors secured the points at Meadowbank.

FC - Sead Haksabanovic (Celtic)
The summer signing bagged the first two goals of his Celtic career and they certainly weren't incidental as the champions needed an injury-time goal from Kyogo Furuhashi (before Liel Abada added the cherry on top) to defeat Dundee United and establish a seven-point lead at the top.

FC - Bojan Miovski (Aberdeen)
The North Macedonian striker is now into double figures for the season after netting twice in Friday night's 4-1 victory over Hibs. A big win in the hunt for Europe, the Dons are now in sole possession of third place in the cinch Premiership.

FC - Bruce Anderson (Livingston)
Aberdeen weren't the only winners in the top flight on Friday as Livingston went to Kilmarnock and twice fought back from a goal down before eventually triumphing 3-2. Anderson netted the first with an excellent strike from distance before playing a crucial role in the winner.
