Team of the Week

Craig Fowler from A View from the Terrace names his SPFL XI after the weekend's games...

GK - Blair Carswell (Spartans)

Though Forfar played well on Saturday they walked away with nothing from their Wiliam Hill League 2 encounter with Spartans thanks to the efforts of the opposition goalkeeper. Carswell secured a clean sheet with an impressive late double-save as his side won 1-0 through Kieran Watson's injury-time goal.

DEF - Ryan Williamson (Montrose)

A goal and a very impressive performance, in what's been a particularly strong start to the season, from Williamson helped Montrose to defeat Stenhousemuir 3-0 in William Hill League One this past weekend.

DEF - Ross Draper (Elgin City)

Back to the fourth tier and a big performance from Elgin's veteran midfielder-turned-defender, who was outstanding as the hosts managed to keep themselves within a goal against Bonnyrigg Rose before a late two-goal turnaround saw them claim all three points.

DEF - Cammy Kerr (Queen’s Park)

Having reinvented himself as a centre-midfielder last season with Inverness, Kerr is now excelling at centre-back for the Spiders. He put in a terrific display as Callum Davidson's men defeated Greenock Morton 1-0 in the William Hill Championship.

DEF - Corrie Ndaba (Kilmarnock)

Our first top-flight entrant and the only player not to be on the winning side this weekend, though for Ndaba and his Killie team-mates the 2-2 draw with St Mirren in the William Hill Premiership would've felt just as sweet as they needed to battle back from a goal down with ten men. Ndaba was excellent defensively and getting up and down the flank, and almost scored a belting goal too.

MID - Mark Russell (Stranraer)

A double from the attacker gave managerless Stranraer their first win of the William Hill League 2 campaign as they edged out East Fife 2-1 at Stair Park.

MID - Dylan Tait (Falkirk)

Falkirk moved top of the William Hill Championship table after keeping up their 100 per cent record with a 2-0 win at Airdrieonians. The superb Tait got himself a goal and an assist in the victory.

MID - Scott Pittman (Livingston)

A goal, an assist and Livingston's star player on the day, Pittman's contribution helped Livi to a 3-0 victory over Hamilton Accies.

MID - Noah Chilvers (Ross County)

A real driving, attacking presence on the left of the midfield three, Chilvers also crossed for Akil Wright to open the scoring in Dingwall as Ross County defeated Dundee 2-0 to get their first victory of the Premiership season.

MID - David Wotherspoon (Dunfermline Athletic)

Another player with a goal and an assist, Wotherspoon pulled the strings in the attacking third as Dunfermline got themselves some Fife bragging rights by deservedly beating ten-man Raith Rovers on Friday evening by a 2-0 scoreline.

FWD- Pape Gueye (Aberdeen)

This week's Star an comes from the Granite City. Not only did Gueye score both of his side's goals in the 2-1 triumph, he was excellent throughout the contest, proving to be a constant menace to the Motherwell defence with his direct dribbling ability.
